And the Oscar Goes To

Each year, come late February or early March, my friends and I host an Oscar Party. What initially began as an excuse for Twin and I to take a day off from work to don fancy clothes and consume mass quantities of gold foil-wrapped candy has developed into a tradition with a life all its own. Some things have changed. We have since forsaken the idea of taking the day off and have been known to record the ceremony to watch days later (which means turning our ballots in early and sequestering ourselves so as not to spoil the show). The fancy clothes have given way to movie-themed costumes. The candy, however, is still gold foil-wrapped and abundant and is now housed in an Oscar pinata. Even though every party seems like the last--the end of an era--the tradition somehow lives on and in fact, keeps getting better. Don't take my word for it. Check out these winners...
